Prayer Changes Things! Don’t Complain About It… PRAY ABOUT IT!

Life and What Matters, Praise & Worship

Today I want to talk to you about prayer.

“I remember when I was a kid my Grandmother would walk through the house daily; saying…
Lord Have Mercy! Jesus Help! Lord Give Me Strength.
And I never, as a kid could fulling understand why. Because as a kid you don’t know the power of words, especially not these!
Well 30 years later when I received the Lord, got saved and understood the word of God; I reflected on this scripture.”

Proverbs 18:21New International Version (NIV)
21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

So in understanding this, I understood that my Grandmother was using her tongue power as well as petitioning God for those things that she was calling out!

PRAYING without taking the hands folded, kneeling posture.

I remember like it was yesterday. And I’m here to tell you, I’m a witness and a benefactor of those words.

“What you speak out of your mouth, especially to Jesus, is going to alert Jesus of your situation, so that he can discuss it with God the Father, and once God gets the petition, you better believe that the SUPERNATURAL is going to take place on your behalf.”

I didn’t really want to have a title for this message; because “IT IS WHAT IT IS”

People we need to “Pray” THAT’S IT …THAT’S ALL!

And what’s crazy, is that I think the Power and Strength of prayer should get stronger and stronger from generation to generation!
Why, because the days are getting worse and worse; so now it’s time to pray on triple duty… Without ceasing.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18New King James Version (NKJV)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Whereas my Grandmother could walk through the house and just speak words of life into the atmosphere; we in this day and age need to be on our knees, pleading the blood of Jesus every day, all day if we can.

And don’t get it twisted, it has nothing to do with God, because God is the same yesterday as He is today. It’s about what we are up against today!

In this season the devil is literally trying to kill, steel and destroy us and he isn’t playing, and what use to work isn’t going to work in this day; what would hold him back…

“Nope that isn’t working in this season.”

In this season it’s time to fight because the devil thinks he has gotten even more cleaver and tactic savvy; especially since this social media crave.

So, how do we fight?

2 Corinthians 10:4-6New King James Version (NKJV)
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

You all we are up against so many things; so many strong holds, so many emotional manipulated spirits; I remember my first lady said that the demons that are going to be released in this season are demons that we have never encounter before.

Think about it. Y’all we seeing men in high heels, carrying purses and beating they face with make-up; Y’all it’s a killing every day; perversion is running ramped; people are sex trading 2 month old babies.

Delusional Mental Mind Manipulation!

People’s minds or literally gone; just being handed over to the devil, with no questions asked.

These people are coming out with drug concoctions that will make you look like… WHAT!
“Mix hand sanitizer, nightquil and bath salt!” Where they do that at?

Ephesians 6:12New King James Version (NKJV)
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

This is real talk!
Y’all Jesus had a prayer life. He had too, just to deal with his disciples…

Peter cutting off ears; I can see Jesus…Lord please help Peter’s anger, deliver him Lord.

All of the disciples falling asleep while He was praying… Lord please give these disciples consistency and energy. Keep them woke Lord…

“WAKE THEM UP! We at war!!!”

He had to pray for Peter more than once; when peter denied Him; Jesus on the cross praying, God Peter know not what he do; please forgive him.

Not to mention…

He had to pray to gain strength not to defeat the devil in his own power, but to do it by the plans of his Father. He had to pray so that He wouldn’t raise up, get distracted by His own power and not fulfil the promise of His Father.

Prayer is what gave Jesus the strength, consciousness, energy, focus, power, grace and the ability to live in the natural flesh and maintain His humility while preforming miracles, witnessing, ministering and leading people. In other words, Jesus had to pray to stay in position.

Matthew 4:1-11New King James Version (NKJV)
Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”[a]
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”[b]
7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’”[c]
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you,[d] Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”[e]
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Don’t you know that if you don’t stayed prayed up and focused on God; the devil will come right at the very moment when you think you are safe and doing good and lead you astray, with all is tactics; saying all the right things; look good, smelling good etc.

In my pastor voice… “Shaped like a Coca-Cola bottle!”
In my voice… “Dark-Chocolate, fine, 5 foot 9, looking like Dwayne Wade.”

Or maybe it’s that thing that you’ve been trying to suppress but truly aren’t delivered from, and every now and then it tries to rise back up.
You know…
Those inner struggles like…

Fornication, lust, pride, anger, envy, that taste for a fine wine! “That would be me! Fine Wine.”
And you have to remember God I’m delivered!
And say a little prayer…
Lord, please let this cup pass from me!

Or maybe drop to your knees, if it’s something severely on you and start yelling out to the LORD; touch right now Jesus. I don’t want to go back, I can’t go back; my family is depending on me, my mind is depending on me, my life is depending on me!

“HELP!!!! JESUS!!!”

Well I’m here to help you today! Even the disciples asked for help.

Luke 11:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
11 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”

You want to know why they asked for help praying.
I can imagine them telling Jesus…

“Jesus we been watching you and every time you come out of that secrete place of prayer, you are change. Your eyes look different, your attitude is different; your power is different; your anointing is different; you go in tired and come out on fire.

Even though you got people talking about you and trying to kill you; when you come from that secrete place; you are at peace!
It’s something about what you do in that place and what happens in that place and we want some of it.”

Luke 11:2 New King James Version (NKJV)
2 So He said to them, “When you pray, say:

The Lords Prayer…

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.

Why did Jesus say pray this?

He could have said; say “Now you lay me down to sleep…Amen!” He could have said; “Oh just ask Jesus for what you want and say in my name at the end!”

But He didn’t he gave them a specific prayer and that’s because this prayer takes care of specific things.

You all in order for us to defeat the enemy; we are going to need to be prayed up; because this battle in the spirit is becoming more and more intense.

The Devil is the prince of the air and the only way we are going to pull down stronghold and break chains and loose ourselves from the craziness of this world is through prayer. The Devil is trying to hit us with everything that he has; especially the air waves!

Before I get to my 6 points; think about how many people you see walking around with headphones on listen to something, blocking out everything else, occupied with the distraction of the air waves? Our kids especially.

How many times you have to repeat yourself to your children because they didn’t hear you the 1st 3 times because they had on head phones?
Well this is what God is saying to us…

You can’t hear me because the devil has your ear! WAKE UP PEOPLE! HE IS THE PRINCE OF THE AIR, NOT THE PRINCE OF PEACE!

6 points and I’m done!

1. Prayer is connection with God where you are acknowledging, glorifying and worshiping Him! Building a relationship with him and bringing your
thoughts into submission to God.

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.

Why do you think you get tired every time it’s time pray? Because the enemy don’t want you to connect with God, because he know what God will do when you connect with Him! Nothing can stand against God; which means the enemy has to back down; when you call on, acknowledge, glorify and worship your father!

2. Prayer invokes Gods power into your life, your circumstances and situation; Don’t you know that God will send Angels down from heaven
to save you; to deliver you, to heal you; to intervene in that situation? You are praying down resources! GOD IS YOU RESOURCE!

Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.

God I need you to step into this situation. I need you to show up; I don’t have the strength or the answers, but I know that you do. So,
come into this issue and change the odds that are against me! Not what I want to do but what you need for me to do.

3. It builds Faith and gives miracles permission to happen; in the later part of James 4:2. It states… you do not have because you do not ask.
Think about it; what is missing from your life because instead of praying about it; you complained about it. I’ve made my request know! Now, I”m just waiting on you.

Give us this day our daily bread.

God wants us to pray daily be constant; so that we can continue to see clearer and our mind can continue to stay in the right place, so that
we can continue to walk in the peace, joy and purpose that God has place on our life. What I couldn’t see happening in my life; now I can,
because it’s in your word, that I should be the head only, that my seed will be blessed, that I will be fruitful and multiply…
Cause you given me conformation with your word and in my soul, I’m insured, I’ve been fed!

4. Cleans Your Heart Up

And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.

Lord I forgive those who do things to me because they don’t know what they do, just like you forgave Peter for denying you.
But Lord while I’m forgiving them; give me my pass too.
Just because, I’m saved; I’m still not you, my flesh may rise up and I don’t want to act out of character; I don’t know what this flesh
may try to have me do, I don’t know what this flesh might have me to think, do or say, if put in the wrong environment. I’m trying to live
this life right, but sometimes I just feel like letting somebody have it! So, FORGIVE ME LORD in advance!

5. It Retrains You

And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.

Have my back Lord; as a matter of fact have my front too. I don’t know what this day has for me, I don’t know what devil, witch or warlock
is gone run up on me today. I don’t know what spirits are in this environment I’m about to walk into, but all I know is that I need your
protection, I need your guidance, I need you to cover me, Jesus!

6. It Glorifies God

For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.

Lord, I’m going to make it through this day; I not gone hurt nobody, I not gone talk about nobody; I’m not gone fall short…
Even when she tried to provoke me, I walked away and prayed.
Even when I got that call from an old fling; I didn’t answer but I start praying.

Even when my health report came back fussy; I didn’t worry; I prayed.
Even when my check was short; I didn’t complain, I prayed. Not in my might but in yours. You’ve gave me the power to let go and let God
and I thank you! And it is so…

You all it’s just as easy as this…

“Say the Lord’s Prayer daily!”

God is our daily bread and if we are not praying we are not allowing him to do his job in us on a daily basis. I urge you to get your prayer life in order. If we ever needed prayer we need it now.

It would be sad news to know you had protection and not utilize it; especially when your protector hold the whole world and all the help you need in his hands.

God Bless! And here’s an added bonus to pray!
