HALF DO-ERRS are people who half-do almost everything. You know why I said “ALMOST EVERYTHING” because they even half-do that!
Then, the part that kills me, is that; they sit around and wonder why it’s not happening for them!
Why is it not happening for you!?
You are a HALF DO-ERR, so you get what you put in, that’s how the rules of reciprocity work.
Sitting around pondering why me…
Why is it not happening for them?
Well let me tell you why it isn’t happening for you.
You never got because you half went to class and half way finished school… Therefore you had, half the credits you needed to get your graduate with that degree.
You never started, because you half way did the work and research and you went in with a half-hearted attitude, effort and drive and not tenacity to actually start it. Therefore you got half your business plan prepared and then stopped never finishing the other half. God gave you the vision but you never wrote it down.
You started writing it, in your head but because you half way followed through; you’ve forgotten specific details so now it’s not even half way completed… not even in your head.
Because you half way did your part. Or, could it be because you had half your heart in your marriage and the other half in another place!
That you half way raised; always dropping him/her off at their grandparents house cause you wanted to half way be a parent and half way be in the street. Now you wonder why that child always in trouble; half way like you simply didn’t turn out the way you expected. But WHAT DID YOU EXPECT with that half parenting effort you contributed. HALF-DO-ERR!
Oh! And let’s not forget about your SALVATION…
YOU HALF WAY IN THE WORLD AND HALF WAY IN THE WORD!
Then you’re wondering why you’re walking around happy, smiling and laughing one day and then the next day; depressed, angry, bitter and unstable.
Awe, you don’t know why. Well, I know why!
Because your mind is half way delivered and half way in bondage; which makes you a James 1:8 type of person.
A double minded man, is unstable in all his ways.
What’s that commercial; where the old man is dangling the dollar in front of the young lady and when she reaches for it; she missing it and he yells out… “You got to be quicker than that, You Almost Had It” LOL!
HALF-DO-ERRS! You almost had it; it was right there, dangling right in front of your face and you missed it.
Moses was a Half-Do-err, he half did what God told him to do, and it caused not just himself but other people to lose out on a promise from God…
12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
Let me give you a little back-drop on this scripture…
See When Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt they starting complaining, whining and whimpering about being thirsty and needing water. So, God told Moses and Aaron to strike a certain rock; with Aaron’s staff in front of all the Israelites, and at that moment water would flow form the rock for them, from God. But instead of doing what God said completely; Moses did it half his way and half God’s way.
Moses, was so caught-up in his feelings and so angry with the Israelites for whining, whimpering and complaining that he lost sight of the mission. So, he decided to show them that he was the man and got caught up in glorifying himself, so that it would make him look good and He forgot about giving God the glory for the miracle that had just went forth. Moses made it appear as if he and Aaron had made the water flow out the rock, through their own might as if they had the power.
So he half way did what God told him to do. God said let them know it came from Me, not you… Moses!
The crazy part is that yes, Moses completed the task but he aborted the mission.
See the mission was so that the Israelites would know that God was with them, and that God was working through Mosses; so that they would have confidence in the promises of God as well as Mosses being a man of God. But because of Moses being a HALF DO-ERR; they all missed out on a life changing blessing and the promise.
Now, were they blessed with water in a time of thirst? Yes.
And was Moses and Aaron probably looked at as the man for a short period of time? Yes.
But the ultimate goal and mission, failed. Who wants half of a blessing when you could have gotten it all! It’s was dangling right there in front of Moses face. He almost had it!
Let’s look at Peter; he walked with Jesus, sup with Jesus, proclaimed that Jesus was the end all be all; all the way to the very last walk to the cross; then he became a HALF DO-ERR!
54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.
55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
So you mean to tell me Peter… “YOU ALMOST HAD IT”
Peter what did hinder you?
You almost went the full course, you almost won the race, you almost completed the mission but at the very end, you bailed.
I wonder how many rubies and diamonds was removed from his crown for that one.
Now did God still bless Peter? Yes, but I’m more than sure, Peter didn’t get the crown he would have gotten if he hadn’t half did his stand with Jesus. So yes, you can still receive God’s blessings but you will always be half way behind what He really had for you. If you are a HALF-DO-ERR!
Yawl it’s a big difference in receiving blessings and simply just living blessed in God.
Being blessed in God doesn’t mean that you are perfect, it just means that you’ve pressed your way through and continued the task to complete the mission.
You didn’t take the short cuts…
Like skipping over those scriptures that you don’t like. But taking heed to the entire word of God, and completed the whole process even if it rebukes you.
I come today to tell you all.
DON’T BE A HALF DO-ERR!
HALF DO-ERRS never experience greatness. They will always be mediocre in everything. That goes for the natural side of life as well as the spiritual.
If you half go to church, half pray and half read your Word. It’s just like anything else, you half do. You will never be great and you will always receive half of the results. Half the blessing, half the knowledge, half the relationship and half the life of living in abundance, through God.
Here’s a few scriptures for you to mediate on if you find yourself in the HALF DO-ERR’S ZONE!
2 Corinthians 8:11
11 Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have
Meaning finish the work; complete it so that the results can show!
1 Corinthians 9:24
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Meaning, move like a winner in everything that you do as if you’ve already won!
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus
Meaning, even when you get tired and can’t see that thing manifesting; remember that God gave you the vision, so He has your back!
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Meaning, what is driving you? What is feeding you to finish? Think about that and make it happened. And if God has giving you a vision or a task, then that should be your drive. That is what should feed you. The fact in knowing that… If God is with me; who can be against me. And also understanding that by completing this vision or this task, you will be glorifying Him.
Now I’m going to leave all you HALF DO-ERRS with this last question…
What if Jesus was a HALF DO-ERR; where would we be!
