Seeing The World from God’s Perspective Is the Key to Growth!

So what is perspective?

Perspective is understanding something because you see it from a larger frame of reference. It is the ability to perceive how things are interrelated and then judge their comparative importance. 

For believers, it means seeing life from God’s point of view. 

In the Bible, the words “understanding”, “wisdom”, and “discernment” all have to do with perspective. The opposite of perspective is “hardness of heart”, “blinded” and “dullness.”

Well BELIEVERS’ think about this… Here are a few rhetorical questions for you to think on!

When you read the word of God or listen to your Pastor’s Sermons can you understand his perspective? So you can possess the understanding of what the Man/Women of God and the Word of God is trying to tell you?

Can you discern what’s needed in this dying world in these wicket times that we are living in, to actually help some who’s living-it? And do you have the wisdom to apply the word of God to be affected in witness to that individual in an effort to help them out-of-it?

NOW HERE’S THE POWER QUESTION…

Can you do it from a Christian perspective?

Or is your heart hardened and blinded by the cares of your own life and full of dullness;

So dull, that you can’t see past your own issues to help someone else with there’s?

Psalm 103:7 says, “He (God) made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel.”

Now check this! 

The people of Israel got to see what God did, but Moses got to understand why God did it.  This is the difference between knowledge and perspective. Knowledge is learning what God has said and done. Perspective is understanding why God said it or did it.

I hope you got that! But if you didn’t here it is again…

Knowledge: facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject:

Perspective: a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view:

Believe it or not, but God’s Perspective answers the “Why?” questions of life.

Why is my life is in such disarray? What’s your perspective; is it a Godly perspective or a worldly perspective (meaning you own perspective)

Well, let me help you out; here’s a worldly perspective – My life is in disarray because I got too much on my plate, I can’t stay focus, I got too much on my mind, too much going on!

If this is your mindset, here are two scriptures to help you out!

Read them, Remember them, and Repeat them. My formula, the 3-R’s to deliverance!

James 1:5-8;

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

James 4:8  

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Here’s a few more questions for you to ponder on, along with the worldly answers with scriptures to help change your worldly mindset and move you towards seeing things in God’s perspective and not your own! Remember to do the 3-R’s!

Why does all my relationship fail? My relationship failed because of them and what they did, it’s not me; it’s them!

Mark 12:30-21

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] There is no commandment greater than these.”

Why am I so angry, depressed, bitter, etc.? I’m angry because I’m mad at what happened when I was 5; and it still keeps me depressed and don’t know body understand or care about my feelings so know I’m bitter!

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Why am I living under my God given purpose? I’m not living up to my full purpose in God because the Pastor wouldn’t let me sing in the choir! Sister So-And-So hurt my feelings; they didn’t ask me to go to the conference with them, it’s too many clicks at this church, I wanted to be over the youth ministry; why they pick him, etc.

Proverbs 19:21

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Proverbs 20:5

The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters,     but one who has insight draws them out.

So if the Christian perspective answers the “Why?” then that’s the only way we should be looking at things, and not in our own view point and/or perspective!

You don’t have to agree but be honest with yourself, and where you are in your Christian walk; where you are spiritually? Think about it!

Because we will be quick to answer questions like those above, from our fleshly perspective and toss God’s word in the back seat, not even trying to grasp His perspective!

We will come up with all kinds of excuses and antics from our own perspective; but what does the word of God have to say about it!

Are you meditating on the word of God?

Or you fasting and praying about your life and what’s going on in it?

Are you being still long enough to even hear what God is telling you to do and how He’s telling you to handle certain situations?

Are you wise enough to understand what God is doing in your life?

Well, here’s another powerfully scripture for you!

Proverbs 4:7 NKJV

Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

“Principal: first in order of importance; main: thing!”

“Wisdom: the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment and knowing how to use it!”

“Understanding: the ability to understand something; comprehension: having insight!”

So what the meaning of all this, you ask? Well let me break it down for you; so if will forever be broken!

I’m about to show you right where you are spiritually! And remember, this is what we need as Christians to move further in Christ!

The Bible says that unbelievers have no spiritual perspective (1 Corinthians 2:14).

14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

Likewise a lack of perspective is a mark of spiritual immaturity

(1 Corinthians 3:1-2)

Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

Are you still on the milk bottle to God’s Word? Can you read the word of God for yourself, believe it and stand on it; understand what God is telling you to do and be obedient to it; without the help of your Pastor or 1st Lady to confirm what God has said to you?

God’s reoccurring complaint about the nation of Israel was that they lacked perspective. Many of the prophets rebuked this weakness. Why did they rebuke it? Well, here it is; it’s all in God’s word!

Isaiah 44:18

They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand.

In contrast, having perspective is evidence of spiritual maturity and our ability to recognize the difference between right and wrong.

Proverbs 2:1-9 NIV

2 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.

See God doesn’t want us in the church for 40 years and still drinking bottle; he needs us to grow and mature in the Word of God so that we can help someone else. But the problem comes in because; we can’t help ourselves; we can’t pray ourselves out of a storm; we can fast because we too busy watching Atlanta Housewives; we can’t stand in the gap for someone else because we have gaps all around us.

So here are some more questions I would like for you to think about!

Ask them of yourself and answer them; this will give you a better understanding of where you are.

After all, we can’t move forward to where God is trying to take us if we don’t recognize where we are, admitted where we are and understand what it’s going to take to make us better.

  • Do you see a major difference in you walk with Christ; as you grow older in church are you growing up in the word of God? Be honest!
  • Do you come to church to watch or to listen? Watch what everyone else is doing and wearing, or to listen and take in, to understand what the word of God saying?
  • Can you prepare a spiritual meal and feed someone in need? Or are you comfortable in your superficial church world, of feeding off someone else’s word/food and not even being able to fix your own dinner-spiritually?
  • Are you a mature Saint that can discern good from evil; contradictions from facts; politically correct preaching, or the actual/factual deliverance of the Word of God?
  • Can you teach someone the word of God if your Pastor was to call on you?
  • Can you witness to someone?
  • Can you pray for someone and be affective?
  • Can you defend the Faith/Word of God?

Or are you comfortable with coming to church and playing with God and His word.

Last scripture, and this is a good one! Remember in Isaiah 44:18 from above… “They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand.”

Well, this next scripture in Hebrews; follows up on that one…

Hebrews 5:11

.11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

That being said as I close; I pose this question? Are you eating solid food (MEAT) or are you still sipping on milk?
